Former Rangers midfielder Carlos Pena looks set to finally end his footballing exile after signing for Correcaminos.
The 29-year-old last played a competitive match in October 2018 in the Liga Mx for then loan club Necaxa, but since having his Gers contract terminated in February 2019 [Rangers.co.uk], he’s been out of the game.

Work permit issues and a wage dispute saw him fail to turn out for his most recent club, GKS Tychy of Poland, and now he’s back in his native Mexico.
Former Rangers midfielder Pena signs for Correcaminos
Having failed to win a contract after a brief trials with top-flight side Atlas and second-tier outfit Dorados de Sinaloa, Pena has been given an opportunity by Correcaminos.
‘The Roadrunners’ had a dreadful first half of the 2019/20 season, finishing rock bottom of the Ascenso MX, winning just two of their 13 matches.
Perhaps that’s why they have decided to take a gamble on a player who has been blighted with off-field issues.
As a former Mexico international with 19 caps for his nation, Pena will be hoping to get back to full fitness and show he still has quality, when the Clausura part of the season begins next month.
