English clubs are beginning to panic as their transfer window slams shut on Thursday at 5pm, as the full impact of the early closure begins to hit home.

As Chris Hughton’s Brighton looks to consolidate Brighton’s reasonably solid first season in the Premier League, the Daily Express report that the former Newcastle United manager has launched a bid for Rangers captain James Tavernier.

There is no reported transfer fee, but that did not stop Gers fans on Twitter giving their immediate reaction to the bid and issuing their own valuations of the skipper.

Rangers fans are seemingly keen for their club to become more resistant to offers for their key players; after all, it doesn’t help Steven Gerrard build anything if the likes of Tavernier and Josh Windass are lured back to England.

We’ve taken a look at some of the best reaction from Rangers fans, and it’s clear that they do not want Tavernier to stay, and if he has to go, they want a substantial sum of money for him…
