Former Rangers captain and club legend Richard Gough revealed that Alfredo Morelos’ weight was mentioned as someone watched the striker in midweek.
The Ibrox ambassador was speaking ahead of the Rangers v Liverpool legends match next week.
And in comments Gough made about LA Galaxy technical director Jovan Kirovski, does it suggest why some clubs might not have taken a risk on Alfredo Morelos in the summer?

Now, this is in no way a complaint about the fact Alfredo has stayed at Ibrox beyond the window when so many believed his time was up.
The 23-year-old Colombian battering ram has 13 goals already this season and is on track to smash his 30 goal record from the last campaign.
But responding to questions over Kirovski’s presence at Ibrox for the 5-0 drubbing of Aberdeen, Gough appeared to suggest the former USA international had one eye on the Gers striker [Scotsman].
In doing so, he seemed to highlight a predisposition Kirovski may well have had on the player’s weight.
“Jovan said, ‘Yeah, but he [Morelos] looks a touch heavy’, but I told him just to keep watching and he would definitely score,” said Gough [Scotsman].
“True enough, he scored with a great finish just a few minutes later.
“I’ve been really impressed with him this season. He seems to have calmed down a bit, screwed the nut and realised the ability he has got. He seems to be more comfortable within himself and he played very well against Aberdeen.”

It’s not the first time there have been comments on Alfredo’s weight either. Connor Goldson praised the striker for his weight loss but talked up his burly frame last season.
With the likes of Aston Villa being most recently linked to Alfredo Morelos in a £20m move [Football Insider], could misconceptions about the player’s weight have prevented clubs from bidding in the summer?
