Rangers winger Ojo slammed by BT Sport’s Stephen Craigan

Rangers were unable to maintain their advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership this weekend, after a 1-1 draw at Hearts saw them slip to second on goal difference.

It was a lacklustre display from the Gers on the road, only enlivened by an Alfredo Morelos goal and the return of Ryan Kent.

James Tavernier has been slammed by the fans for his error which led to the Jambos’ goal.

Yet, he wasn’t the only poor player in Light Blue.

Morelos cut an isolated figure up top at times, with the other attacking players failing to sufficiently support him.

Scott Arfield struggled, as he has often done this season, but Sheyi Ojo was dire.

He was substituted on the hour mark, but not before BT Sport commentator Stephen Craigan slammed his performance.

“Sheyi Ojo is just going through the motions”, he said during the second half. “He hasn’t really offered anything to the game so far.”

It was a fair assessment of the Liverpool loanee, who at times seems to operate in his own bubble, unaware of those around him. He consistently slowed down attacks, failed to take on his full-back and generally offered next to no threat.

Therefore, it was no surprise that he was heavily criticised by fans after the game. He also fared poorly in our Player Ratings.

Looking ahead to the crunch Europa League game in Porto on Thursday night, it surely highly unlikely he will start.

With Ryan Kent back to fitness, he may have just blown his last chance for a while to make an impact.
