Kilmarnock have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of Sunday’s Premiership clash against Rangers at Rugby Park.

Centre-back, Clevid Dikamona, has been ruled out with ligament damage after landing awkwardly in Killie’s defeat to Hibernian last weekend [Sky Sports].

The 30-year-old Congo international had finally secured a starting berth under Alex Dyer following his summer move, but he is now set to be sidelined for several matches.

The blow means Stuart Findlay is likely to be brought back into the XI to play alongside former Gers defender Kirk Broadfoot at centre-back.

Long-term absentee, Jake Eastwood, is the only other player in the treatment room.

Killie are currently fifth in the Premiership table but have collected less than half of the points secured by Rangers, although they have played one game less.

The Ayrshire club have a strong record against the Gers on their artificial surface, securing maximum points against Steven Gerrard’s side in the league on three occasions since his appointment in 2018.

Rangers will be confident they can do the job this time around, though, given their current form.

The Light Blues have won eight consecutive matches in all competitions, keeping five straight clean sheets.

A win for the visitors would stretch their lead at the top of the table to nine points, but defeat would see their advantage become a purely psychological one as Celtic would be six points behind with two games in hand.
