Referee Kevin Clancy might’ve lived up to his reputation as Rangers were beaten at Celtic Park.
Hell, the VAR room might’ve even bent right over with Ange Postecoglou’s earlier words about making quick decisions ringing in their ears.
But before we get into it let’s be clear that Rangers shot themselves in the foot, transpired to lose the game to a marginally better side at Parkhead and once again failed to take the opportunities they had to go and win the match.
Celtic have been relentless in their pursuit of a 53rd league title and deserve the league championship. Rangers have not put up enough of a fight and quite simply must do better to stop it ticking over to 54.
But the off pitch Parkhead politicking is a droning, boring joke which is genuinely ruining the spectacle of Scottish football and sucking the life out of the game.
How Alfredo Morelos’ goal was chalked off by first Kevin Clancy and then Nick Walsh is laughable.
The striker got the better of Alistair Johnston and never got his just rewards.
The game might’ve been different had it counted even if Celtic showed a killer edge which Rangers quite simply don’t have to go and win the game.
Nick Walsh didn’t even take his time to properly review the incident before he’d rubbed it out.
It was an awful decision with both James Tavernier and Michael Beale taking aim after the game.
Callum McGregor was also given free rein to tackle the Rangers side however he wanted, Scotland’s Luka Modric-esque world-beater clearly being protected at Parkhead. It was pathetic.
Celtic get what they need from Kevin Clancy and VAR v Rangers
There’s a reason why Celtic always want Kevin Clancy to referee their games and he showed exactly why against Rangers today.
Celtic have also been applying massive pressure on VAR all season with their supporters lapping it up almost as quickly as their lackeys in the media.
And yet, as another big decision goes their way we are to believe that the refs are out to get Celtic, the VAR is run by the masons, and everyone else is in on it too. This mindset will never change.
Whilst it’s a running joke, in real life this pathetic rubbish means that the referees have to tow their line or they risk the sack or even having to phone the police for protection.
The constant politicking even extends beyond the refereeing, into the fact there were no Rangers fans being in the stadium.
The mentalists will have you believe that it’s Rangers’ fault there are no fans at the fixture. It fundamentally is not.
Celtic clearly want the Broomloan and because they haven’t got things their own way they’ve sanctioned this move.
I’ve got some magic beans for sale if you believe otherwise.
How they were allowed to completely cut the allocation heading into this game is absolutely wild and it brings the game into disrepute in Scotland.
They have the SPFL wrapped around their finger, the broadcasters too, and with big bad Rangers enough to distract every other small-minded club, they’re making off with the loot.
Whilst once again we fell short at Celtic Park – with all the odds deliberately stacked against us – it is clear the difference between the two sides isn’t quite as big as some would make out.
It’s on Rangers to rise above this rubbish, to have the summer the fans expect, and to find a way to win these games, silence the mhob and wrestle Scottish football back from the forces of evil once and for all.
