Aberdeen fans have lauded Ross McCrorie after the recently-departed Rangers player netted the winner in their 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock at Pittodrie.
McCrorie joined the Dons on loan in August in a deal that will become permanent at the end of the season and made his fourth appearance for his new club on Saturday afternoon.
Derek McInnes initially looked keen on using the 22-year-old in defence but he was deployed in midfield for the second game running against Kilmarnock and performed superbly.
The hosts took confidence into the game following their 1-0 win at Easter Road prior to the international break and they didn’t take long to make the breakthrough, with the Scotland youth international netting in the 16th minute.
McCrorie was picked out by a Scott Wright cross when arriving on the edge of the box and he swept a fine first-time left-footed finish into the bottom right corner.
His celebration showed just how much he enjoyed getting on the scoresheet for his new club and with his confidence boosted, he went on to put in a Man of the Match display.
🔴 Man of the Match for the second game in a row.
This afternoon's Simmons Energy Man of the Match is Ross McCrorie.

Dons supporters were certainly impressed by his efforts in midfield, with plenty suggesting they have a gem of a young player on their books.
Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:
Just can’t get my head round why they let McCrorie go, not that I’m complaining. Reckon they’ll regret that in a few years. COYR.

Loved that performance today, partnerships and balance all through the team Hedges & Wright, Ferguson & McCrorie, McKenna & Hoban with Hayes running the show. Delighted for the manager and the lucky fans in the ground – Tremendous stuff 🙌 #StandFree 🐑 🔥

Is it too early to compare fergie/McCrorie to simmie /Cooper ?

Before that for me. Shinnie has energy but not a lot of purpose. McCrorie owns that midfield, constantly snuffing out danger

Hayes was superb as always. Rarely has a bad game. For being 33 he’s as fit as ever. Was unlucky with his solo run Rodgers tipped round the post. Hoban and McCrorie excellent. Just need to finish teams off instead of having a nervy ending.

Pleasantly surprised with Wright and I’ll be delighted if he can keep it up. But, McCrorie is a PLAYER!

Good win for The Dons. Thought every player was decent. McCrorie outstanding throughout. Watkins does a great shift chasing everything and showed good touches. Thought Hayes was very good today also. Clean sheet always welcome.

Mccrorie looked at ease the whole game, scored the winner, and just bossed it for the whole time he was on imo

He’s been better than I thought he would be and his goal today was an outstanding finish. This can be overrated but he looks like he’s having loads of fun. Love him to bits.
