Rangers kicked off their official pre-season schedule with an impressive 5-0 victory over Oxford United on Sunday.
With the fixture taking place just two days before the first leg of Europa League QR1, the manager had to make adjustments to his team selection.
However, the vast majority of the squad enjoyed useful run outs.
One of a number of players only introduced for the final 30 minutes of action, was Sheyi Ojo.
The 22-year-old winger signed on loan from Liverpool last month and impressed in his first outing at Ibrox.
Having netted in a bounce game against Mansfield Town in Portugal, it took him just ten minutes to open his Ibrox account against the U’s.
After getting in behind the opposition’s defence, he steadied himself and picked his spot with a left-footed finish bouncing in off the far post.
Ojo gives fans a taste of what’s to come
However, it wasn’t just the goal which impressed Rangers fans. Ojo is pacy and looked dynamic with the ball at his feet during his cameo outing, scoring well in our player ratings.
One piece of skill, in particular, caused a bit of a stir on social media. Receiving the ball to feet in the centre-circle from Steven Davis, two quick touches took him from being seemingly boxed in, to haring down the park. In his wake lay two Oxford players who had crashed into each other following the winger’s turn.
The clip was posted on Twitter by a Gers fan. It was accompanied by the caption: “Disgusting from Ojo, these defenders have families”.
