Rangers fans praise Docherty for display against Derby County

Rangers were well worth their 1-0 victory over Derby County on Sunday.
Nikola Katic’s winner may have come in the closing stages of the pre-season fixture, but the Gers had been knocking on the door for some time before that.

One of the standout performers on the day was Greg Docherty. In fact, the 22-year-old was awarded Man of the Match by RangersTV.
It’s the latest of several impressive outings from the industrious midfielder this month.
He wasn’t involved against Progres on Thursday evening, but was one of only a handful of players to get 90 minutes in the victory over the Championship side.
Docherty is yet to open his goalscoring account for his boyhood club. It’s not for a lack of trying, though.

He was in the thick of things from the word go, looking to test out the visitor’s keeper. Playing in a relatively advanced role, he buzzes around and looks to create,
just like he did whilst on loan at Shrewsbury last season.
It’s hasn’t been straightforward for him at Rangers so far and with the quality Gerrard has at his disposal in midfield, it’s going to be difficult for the ex-Hamilton man to nail down a spot.

Yet, his determination to succeed is there for all to see and is appreciated by the Ibrox faithful.
Therefore, when Docherty took to Twitter in recognition of the win, he received no shortage of praise for his efforts.
