Rangers played the first of their two games in hand on Celtic against Hibernian at Easter Road tonight with Philippe Clement hoping to maintain the momentum built up since taking charge.
The Gers boss still has a lengthy injury list to deal with but was able to field a strong starting XI minus vice-captain Connor Goldson in the squad.
Trips to the capital are rarely comfortable affairs but who could Rangers rely on and who let the side down against Hibernian? Here are your player ratings.

Rangers v Hibernian player ratings
Here are how the Rangers players rated against Hibernian.
Jack Butland – 8
So important in games like this, one standard save was topped by his early stop after two minutes with another in the second half that was even better.
He’s been outstanding since signing.
James Tavernier – 7
Should have scored with the score at 1-0 but was unlucky to find David Marshall’s face with a powerful drive. Solid.
Ridvan Yilmaz – 8
Stunning goal.
Perfectly timed run, great first touch, even better finish – why would be consider selling him in this form unless for silly money.
Leon Balogun – 7
An early injury scare would have had Philippe Clement sweating but we are asking a lot of the veteran to keep going week, after week.
Not that you’ll hear him complain.
John Souttar – 7
In for the suspended Connor Goldson, Souttar was in his more comfortable right-hand side of defence.
His extra pace was a useful addition against a willing Hibs attack.

John Lundstram – 9
More of this please John.
His pass for the opener was sensational, perfectly weighted and timed. Controlled the game.
Nicolas Raskin – 5
An industrious 45 minutes but couldn’t really influence the game in possession.
Todd Cantwell – 8
He came, he saw, he scored a screamer, and then took the rest of the night off.

Rabbi Matondo – 7
End product, end product, end product.
If he had one, he wouldn’t be at Rangers because he does everything else right.
Got his assist for Cyriel Dessers’ goal but, in Abdallah Sima’s absence, we need more.
Fabio Silva – 7
Worked tirelessly, led the press and showed enough good touches to suggest that he is a useful addition.
Nothing quite fell for him in terms of chances though.
Ross McCausland – 7
Similar to Matondo but there is more control with McCausland, who is growing in stature.
Linked well with Tavernier on a few occasions.
Substitutes
Cyril Dessers – 8
There are elements of his game that aren’t good enough but he has now scored in his last three games – make it make sense.
Dujon Sterling – 7
So consistent, unflappable and just a constant force around the pitch picking up second balls and winning possession.
Tom Lawrence – 7
Looks sharper, unlucky not to get on the scoresheet with a marginal offside call.
Scott Wright – 6
Superb save from Marshall kept stopped him getting his second goal in the space of a week.
Ryan Jack – 6
Not enough time to make an impact.
