Aberdeen legend Willie Miller was left gutted live on BBC Scotland as Rangers banged in a last-minute winner at Pittodrie.

The Dons hero was on commentary duties for the clash in the northeast as the Gers extraordinary late rally saw them bang in two injury time goals to turn the game on its head.

With Aberdeen 2-1 up heading into the final stages, Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield popped up with two late goals to turn three points dropped into three points gained for the Gers.

Willie Miller left heartbroken as Rangers beat Aberdeen

Working on commentary duties for BBC Radio Scotland, Willie Miller was left gutted when Scott Arfield netted the late winner and yelled out “aw naw” as the ball hit the back of the net.

Naturally, the comments of Willie Miller have been lapped up by Rangers supporters who’ve been left delighted with the late rally against Aberdeen despite what was an underwhelming performance.

The loud yelp of Willie Miller wasn’t the only thing coming out of the post-match from BBC Scotland either, with a pre-Arfield double match report somehow making its way on to 10 O’Clock BBC Radio Scotland bulletin.

As clipped below, the newscaster claims that “Aberdeen scored two stunning goals to come from behind and beat Rangers in a pulsating match”. Of course, this turned out not to be the case.

The result means Rangers have cut Celtic’s lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to six points with the Parkhead side set to welcome form side Livingston to Parkhead this evening.

Rangers will be hoping that they can continue to build on the momentum of two victories in Michael Beale’s first two matches in charge, but there is still much to improve on the field of play.

Meanwhile, is it time one major broadcaster started shortchanging Rangers with their coverage of the club?
