Rangers star Todd Cantwell has claimed Philippe Clement might just be a “magic man” after all following the Europa League win over Sparta Prague.
The Ibrox midfielder, 26, was asked to play off the right in the crucial Europa League victory and marked the change of position with the Ibrox side’s eventual winner in Glasgow.
Cutting in on his left-foot to roll the ball neatly past Sparta keeper Peter Vindahl, Todd Cantwell claims Philippe Clement has been building confidence on that since all week.
Moreover, the Rangers playmaker has also joked that perhaps the ex-AS Monaco manager is a “magic man” after all after Clement claimed he’s “not a magician” when taking over at Ibrox.
“It’s a position that I’ve not played in before but listen as a player you do as the manager asks from you,” said Cantwell.
“The manager asked me to play there, he’s seen something, he said I’ve got a very good left foot all week and there you go I go and score on it.
“So yeah maybe he is a magic man after all.”
All smiles for Todd Cantwell, Philippe Clement and Rangers
The strike is Todd Cantwell’s first goal of the season and fans will be hoping it kickstarts a period of goalscoring form for the ex-Norwich star.
Rangers seemingly have no end to their injury problems with no fewer than six first teamers missing from the clash against Sparta Prague.

Rangers would however hold for a potentially pivotal result in Europa League Group C, with the win moving Rangers three points ahead of Sparta Prague with two games to play.
Rangers know that victory over Aris Limassol in the next round will guarantee them progression to the knockout stages of the Europa League with a pre-League Cup Final visit to Real Betis looking increasingly like a group decider.
