Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin continues to impress when he has been representing the Belgium national team.

The 25-year-old failed to make the Red Devils squad when he was at Standard Liege, but his Ibrox switch has certainly helped him take his career to the next level.

Raskin has made an impact with Rangers and now appears to be on the cusp of making it to the World Cup.

Belgium are yet to lose a game Nicolas Raskin has started in

Belgium picked up a 5-2 win against the United States on Saturday, and Raskin was named in Rudi Garcia’s playing eleven.

The Gers midfielder played 70 minutes before being withdrawn for Axel Witsel.

Garcia has no option but to start him at the World Cup, as his team has won every single game in which he has started.

In his first international start, Raskin guided his side to a 3-0 win over Ukraine and even won the Man of the Match in that game.

He was then named in the playing eleven in the World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan, scoring en route to a 6-0 victory.

Raskin also started the 0-0 draw against North Macedonia and the 4-3 win over Wales.

He clearly is doing something right at the heart of the Belgian midfield, and needs to be playing every game for his country at the 48-nation tournament.

What does the future hold for Raskin at Rangers?

Raskin seems to be linked with an exit whenever the transfer window opens, but does not end up leaving Ibrox.

He has been subject to Premier League interest in the past and a good showing for Belgium at the World Cup would only increase the demand for his services.

The 25-year-old’s deal at the club runs until June 2028, so if he does ask to leave, Rangers are well protected in the market.

As things stand, no club is showing a huge amount of interest, so he is likely to stay, but things could change in the next few months.
