Rangers should consider sending Josh McPake to Morecambe on loan to help broker a permanent deal for Spanish winger Carlos Mendes Gomes.
McPake spent the second half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Harrogate Town and is soon due to join up with the Gers first-team squad for pre-season training.

However, the Independent reports that he’s likely to head back out on loan next season, with Morecambe one of five clubs interested in him.
That could present a big opportunity for the Light Blues, who have been credited with interest in Shrimps winger Mendes Gomes [Scottish Sun].
The Spaniard scored 16 goals in EFL League Two last season and Alan Nixon recently claimed that multiple clubs are competing for his signature, with Morecambe wanting £500k to part with him.
A possible way for the Gers to get ahead in the transfer race would be to offer McPake on loan plus cash.
The 19-year-old, who has one Ibrox first-team appearance to his name, plays on the left wing, which is where Mendes Gomes operated from for much of last season.

It’s unlikely that a player as young and raw as McPake would be able to contribute as many goals as Mendes Gomes did last season, but he bagged a respectable four in half a campaign at Harrogate and would represent a cost-efficient short-term replacement for a key player.
Rangers used Ross McCrorie to help successfully negotiate a deal for Scott Wright with Aberdeen in January and now a chance looks to have presented itself to repeat the trick.
Mendes Gomes isn’t the only winger the Light Blues have been linked with, and earlier this week Rangers News spoke exclusively to an EFL expert to get some insight into another reported target.
