If there is a Rangers player who has left the club that seems destined to return it is Nathan Patterson.
The Scotland right-back has said recently that he feels he has unfinished business with the Ibrox outfit and he would be welcomed back with open arms.
Another stand-out display on international duty suggests that when James Tavernier hangs up his boots for Rangers, Nathan Patterson should be his natural successor.

Rangers reunion should be on the cards for Nathan Patterson
There was always one key difference in the pair when they were competing for games.
Patterson was a dribbler and Tavernier was a crosser.
The Gers skipper’s assists numbers are ridiculous and his abililty to be in the right place, at the right time, at the back post is uncanny.
As for Patterson, he chipped in with a couple of goals during his short time in the first-team and proved that he could also add numbers.
Tavernier is irreplaceable on that count though.
The ex-Rangers defender was faced with the daunting task of playing against one of the world’s best dribblers in Kvhicha Kvaratskhelia against Georgia but Nathan Patterson more than held his own.

There was some criticism for letting the Napoli playmaker cut inside to score his second of the night, however, that’s where Scotland had most protection.
Patterson wasn’t given much help by his Scotland teammates and it was John McGinn who left the gap for Kvaratskhelia to dribble into.
At Everton, Sean Dyche seems intent on not playing Patterson whenever possible but there is no chance of a quick, or cheap, return given that his contract runs until 2027.
The question of how much Everton would demand for Patterson isn’t known but, if he isn’t playing, they can’t ask for anywhere near what they paid for him and who would pay it?
Recently, Rangers have spent money but not always spent it right, in a couple of years time, if he is still at Everton and not first choice, it would be the lowest risk signing ever to bring Nathan Patterson home.
