Danny Rohl could see one of his out-of-contract players in June potentially signing an extension at Rangers.

The German will have to make some important decisions in the coming weeks regarding the futures of some of his players.

He certainly will hold talks with some of them as to what their responsibilities are, as not everyone has been performing up to the desired standards.

Rangers now likely to keep Rydnn McGuire at the club

Danny Rohl having Rydnn McGuire with the senior players in Spain, suggests he wants to keep him at Ibrox beyond the summer.

The 17-year-old was spotted in full first-team training as the plans are getting a refresher in warmer conditions.

His contract runs out in the summer, but it speaks volumes that Rohl asked him to join the team.

It suggests that, despite him making his senior debut, the young keeper is rated highly by the hierarchy and could sign a new deal.

There could be work that begins on him signing a new deal in the coming weeks, as Rohl and the rest of the staff will be keeping a keen eye on him.

It remains to be seen if that happens before the end of the season.

Why McGuire potentially staying at Ibrox is good news

Retaining McGuire at Ibrox beyond this summer is a vital move for the Gers’ long-term stability and financial strategy.

At just 17, he has already established himself as one of Scotland’s most promising goalkeeping prospects.

Recently, he proved his worth with heroics in a penalty shootout in the Glasgow Cup and consistent performances for the Scotland U-19s side.

With Liam Kelly and Kieran Wright’s deals expiring, it makes sense to retain one who can be for the future.

Retaining the young goalkeeper’s services would be ideal as his valuation will only increase amid links to clubs in England.

If Rangers succeed in keeping him at the club, it signals to the academy that a clear pathway to the first team exists under the current structure.

It preserves the club’s investment in youth development and ensures they don’t lose another top talent to the English system prematurely.
