If Jack Butland has been Rangers best signing from the summer then Abdallah Sima is a close second given the forward’s goal return.
What is impressive about the 22-year old is that he scores every type of goal and his header at Ibrox against Dundee was his 13th of the season and puts him joint top goalscorer in the Gers squad.
Understandably, Rangers manager Philippe Clement wants to keep Abdallah Sima beyond his loan spell and, despite a potentially expensive fee, we could have a helping hand.

Rangers need to hope for helping hand in Abdallah Sima deal
Brighton’s director of football is former Gers skipper David Weir and, speaking at the time of his move up to Glasgow he said:
“Abdallah had a really strong finish to last season in France, after initially being disrupted by injury — but he once again showed his ability when he did play, and the potential he offers.
“We are hoping he can get a good run of games with Rangers this coming season, both domestically and in European competition, and we will keep a close eye on his progress.”

With just a year on his contract at the Premier League outfit, Rangers are in a decent position to negotiate a deal for Abdallah Sima.
He might not be able to square us away with a cut-price fee but you would like to think that David Weir wouldn’t be difficult to deal with.
Sima’s contract status means that Brighton wouldn’t want to risk losing the forward for nothing and modern transfers are more creative than they used to be with Clement revealing talks could soon begin.
They are also a club known for getting their player trading model right and it may be that if a buy back clause is inserted in any offer that they might be willing to sell for something more in Rangers price range.
The Athletic reported that Brighton paid Slavia Prague £6m for the Senegal international’s services and, given his age, ability and potential to improve even more as well as his record so far, that would be money well spent.
All we need now is Weir to do his old club a favour.
