Rangers fans will love Kyle Glasgow’s lovely free-kick goal

John Walker, a UEFA-licensed coach, took to X to share footage of Glasgow’s free kick that found the back of the net.

The attacking midfielder started for the Rangers Under-17s as they took on Hearts on Friday evening.

The Gers won 4-0, with Glasgow’s goal undoubtedly being the pick of the bunch.

The teenager stood behind the ball at the edge of the opposition penalty area and struck the ball perfectly into the top left-hand corner.

Hearts’ goalkeeper tried to reach it but failed to even lay a glove on it because of the power and accuracy behind the finish.

It was a goal that was scored in the first half and the Ibrox outfit led 2-0 at the break and then added two more in the second period.

What Rangers Academy chief said after Glasgow signed a new contract

Interim Head of Academy, David McCallum, was thrilled when Glasgow decided to stay put at Ibrox.

McCallum admitted that he was delighted with the news, as it was a proud moment for the player as well as a testament to the hard work he had put in.

He also praised the 16-year-old for the maturity he has shown as he has come up the ranks at the club.

However, he stated that there is still plenty of work ahead as the teenager aims to become a first-team regular.

McCallum told the club’s official website: “We are delighted that Kyle has signed his first professional contract with Rangers.

“I’m sure it is a proud moment for him and his family, and it is a reward for the hard work and dedication he has shown throughout his time in the Academy.

“Kyle has earned this opportunity through his commitment every day he comes into the Rangers Training Centre, and he displays a real maturity and hunger to learn and develop as an individual.

“Today is always an important milestone in a young player’s career, but Kyle knows there is still a lot of hard work ahead of him, and he will be supported every step of the way, both on and off the pitch, by the support staff at the club.”
