Rangers fans have delivered their verdict on a permanent deal to secure the services of Andreas Skov Olsen in the summer.

The Gers secured the Denmark international’s services on loan, with an option to buy him from Wolfsburg at the end of the season.

An agreement was struck between the two clubs that would see Rangers paying £9m to sign the 26-year-old if they exercised the option to buy.

Rangers fans do not want Andreas Skov Olsen at Ibrox next season

A number of Gers fans interacted with the Rangers News Facebook page to deliver their verdict on the right winger.

They reacted to comments made by Alex Rae about the Rangers’ plans for the summer transfer window.

The responses were unanimous as no supporter believes that he has done enough to merit a permanent signing in the summer.

When the likes of Abdallah Sima and Vaclav Cerny joined on loan, there was a clamour from the fanbase to sign them on a permanent basis.

However, that does not appear to be the case for Skov Olsen.

One fan wrote: “Not good enough, player in him but seems overawed, similar to Lammers.”

“Not for me,” wrote another. “My expectations were that he was a similar player to Laudrup, quick and skilful. Sadly, I haven’t seen either.”

Another supporter still seems to be missing what Cerny brought to the table.

He wrote: “No, he’s done nothing. Should have kept Cerny.”

James added: “Hasn’t convinced us so far, not what we were expecting.”

While John was pretty definitive with his three-word answer – “Not a chance.”

What Skov Olsen needs to do to win over the Rangers supporters?

Skov Olsen has shown glimpses of his creativity and also being a goal threat, but his output has been underwhelming.

If he goes on a run where he has been scoring or assisting in five games in a row, and that is resulting in Rangers winning games, fans may be willing to take a punt on him permanently.

Djeidi Gassama is also trying to prove himself and nail down a starting role in the side, so if he manages to outshine the Dane, the club would rather utilise those funds to strengthen other areas.

Skov Olsen also needs to show more innovation while taking on players, as he struggles to get past opposing defenders.
