Rangers are linked with a number of players who are currently representing their countries at the FIFA World Cup.

The 48-team tournament gave countries the chance to participate who otherwise may not have even dreamt of being at the premier competition.

Most of the teams have played their opening games, but there are still a handful of sides yet to feature.

Which Rangers star will fare the best at the World Cup?

The Gers have six players at the tournament.

Rangers target Elijah Just scores two goals in New Zealand vs Iran

Rangers will surely have taken note of Elijah Just’s performance for New Zealand in their 2-2 draw against Iran on Tuesday morning.

The Black Caps seemed to be relying on Chris Wood for the goals, but it turned out that the Motherwell winger ended up being the star of the show.

The 26-year-old scored a brace for the Kiwis, and despite being the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, they managed to secure a respectable point.

The Rangers hierarchy were already impressed with Just, following his performances in the Scottish Premiership.

He is said to be high on the wishlist of the Ibrox outfit as they are planning for a big summer in terms of incomings and outgoings.

While Danny Rohl was in charge at the time of the transfer links, there is no reason to think that Derek McInnes would not also fancy a move for the New Zealand attacker, leading the club to step up their interest.

Now that Danny Rohl seems set to leave Rangers, how would you rate his time at the club?

What Just said after scoring two goals in a World Cup game

Just, the Man of the Match, was undoubtedly thrilled after scoring two goals in his country’s opening game of the World Cup.

Many expected the Kiwis to finish bottom of the group, but that result has shown they have a good chance of qualifying for the next round.

The winger admitted that this was something beyond his wildest dreams and that he was overjoyed by scoring a brace.

What would your concerns be about Derek McInnes replacing Danny Rohl?

He stated that scoring once also was something that would have been unexpected, but doing it twice made it all the more special.

Just said: “It’s not something that I could have ever dreamt of. I’m just so happy. One was nice, and to do it twice is just amazing.”
