“Penalty to Rangers” as Celtic keep quiet over their own startling record

Add as preferred source on Google

Despite Sky Sports and Chris Sutton’s best efforts, Don Robertson didn’t bring Rangers and Aberdeen back onto the pitch for a penalty that never existed.

Kris Boyd, rightly, put his fellow pundits back in their place but it is clear what the agenda is going to be as Philippe Clement squeezes every last ounce of talent out of the squad that he inherited.

The magnifying glass never seems to be far from decisions that go for Rangers but you could see Sutton squirming as Boyd brought up Celtic’s own penalty “good fortune” in recent weeks – good fortune that puts any conspiracy to bed.

Rangers penalty scrutiny has to be turned onto Celtic now

For starters, Rangers have now had more players sent off than any other team in the league, and that’s the referees apparently trying to help us.

On the other side of the city though, things have gone quiet since Rangers conceded a penalty against Kilmarnock in December.

And no wonder when you look at their numbers.

They top the charts for penalties awarded – another two at Easter Road last night – and, guess what? They are bottom for penalties conceded with none against all season too.

You have to go back 35 league games since a spot-kick was last given against Celtic.

Quick, someone phone the SFA, UEFA or FIFA, something has to be done!

The reality is, there has probably only been a handful of 50/50 calls in that time but, then again, I don’t record all of their penalty incidents and post them on social media.

As with the type of incident that involved Connor Goldson though, it would be easy for an official to interpret something that goes against them.

Some of the decisions this season have been wild in the SPFL.

It just appears as though none of them have gone against Celtic, they must be due one….
