Popular first-team Rangers star Kemar Roofe has claimed fans are booing because they’re bored of the football being served up at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old Ibrox striker is back in the Gers team after having the last two seasons of his Rangers career disrupted by injuries.

Rangers fans are hoping they can begin to see the best of the ex-Leeds United hitman but Kemar Roofe admits that the booing from the Ibrox stands is because the player aren’t giving the support enough to shout about.

This comes after Michael Beale’s team were jeered off the park following the 1-0 victory over Motherwell at the weekend, the Ibrox side narrowly escaping yet another Premiership cock-up.

Speaking ahead of the League Cup clash with Livingston – which is a must-win for this side – Kemar Roofe insists he believes the Rangers booing will stop when the team start delivering.

Kemar Roofe talks Rangers booing

“I suppose they are booing because they are probably bored, unfortunately,” Kemar Roofe said.

“Trust me, we don’t want that to happen.

“But we also have to take responsibility and entertain them a little bit more and play attractive football for them, so they don’t boo us and they aren’t bored.

“Every game, there’s a demand to play with style. Every game, there’s a demand to look good, to please the fans and to entertain them.

“Yes, football is a results-driven business, but it’s also an entertainment business. That’s why fans come to watch a game after all, to be entertained.

“I am the same when I watch football. If the game’s boring, I’ll probably turn the TV off and do something else. It’s natural.

“Trust me, we are not trying to play boring football. I genuinely do believe it’s a matter of time.”

Rangers are set for another big week with the club set to face Livingston in the League Cup and Aberdeen in the Premiership at Ibrox.

Kemar Roofe will be hoping to play a key role for the side in both games and turn that booing from the Rangers fans into cheering.
