Danny Rohl may have lost the support of Emmanuel Fernandez at Rangers after social media activity

Danny Rohl and Emmanuel Fernandez’s relationship could be fractured after the Rangers game against Hearts.

Rangers lost 2-1 at Ibrox, making it four losses in a row in the Scottish Premiership, the first time that has happened since 1983.

A historical low for the first time in 40 years has put immense pressure on Danny Rohl going into the new season.

Is Danny Rohl’s treatment of James Tavernier a sackable offence?

He did not start Tavernier in his final Ibrox game…

Emmanuel Fernandez likes and reposts James Tavernier’s post

Fernandez liked and reposted James Tavernier’s Instagram post in which the right-back explained the events that unfolded ahead of the Hibs game.

The Rangers captain claims that everything seemed to be in place for him to lead the team out one final time at Ibrox.

He had planned to have his children walk out with him as mascots as well, but things did not proceed in the manner he wanted to.

Danny Rohl could leave amid links to RB Salzburg…

Who do you see replacing him?

Tavernier explains that he delayed the injection originally scheduled for Tuesday to Thursday so as to give him a chance to play on Wednesday.

He claims Rohl had agreed on it, but then told him on Tuesday that he would play but would come on off the bench rather than start.

This does not completely add up with what Rohl said about Tavernier in the post-match press conference.

There, the German said that the decision was not entirely in his hands, but that of the medical staff, who claimed that the defender was not ready to start the game.

Why Fernandez and Rohl may not see eye to eye at Rangers

Fernandez has since undone the repost, as it generated attention on social media, indicating that he was in support of the defender over the manager.

As of Thursday evening, the like on the post still remains, and this could be the start of an eroded relationship between player and manager.

The Rangers squad will have been privy to the situation and would know whom to believe in such a scenario.

Rohl will surely be asked about this in the coming days, but if he actually has lost the trust of this season’s Player of the Year, his position at Ibrox could soon become untenable.
