Perspective needed as Hearts favour allows for Rangers reset

When a team has a manager like Philippe Clement and have been on the sort of run like Rangers, it always stings a bit when things don’t go your way.

After coming through a difficult week with flying colours, it looked like topping the league by five points was an inevitability, instead, we’ll just have to make do with our two point cushion at the top of the Scottish Premiership after Hearts did us a favour.

It’s a long way from over though and Philippe Clement is still the right man to have in charge and the type of manager who will know how to turn this negative into the sort of positivity that Rangers need to get on a winning run.

Philippe Clement deserves some perspective from Rangers fans

It was the perfect storm.

The two centre-halves had an absolute disaster.

Motherwell also go the bit of luck needed to win at Ibrox in that Alan Muir’s decision to not send off Dan Casey ended with him scoring the winner.

Even that goal saw Jack Butland get a strong connection to the ball only for it to ricochet off the inside of the post and go in.

At the other end of the park, Liam Kelly was in inspired form.

What didn’t help was Cyriel Dessers putting in one of “those” performances and his teammates, for once, not bailing him out.

Add this to the entire front four being missing and you have a recipe for disaster.

However……

This should be ground zero.

We start again, reset, regroup and go on the sort of run that saw us get to the top of the league in the first place.

Concentrate on ourselves, and ourselves only.

Philippe Clement has inspired this Rangers squad and they must once again rise to the challenge of overcoming the many hurdles that are being placed in front of them.

Titles are never handed out without tribulation and this new collective faces its first real test of character.

How they respond will win or lose the title.
