Zebra Finance removes Rangers season ticket financing service

Season ticket financers Zebra Finance have revealed to Rangers that they will remove their finance service from the football market with immediate effect.
This plunges supporters and season ticket holders into deep uncertainty. Many rely on the service to fund their season tickets and it is not clear if this method will be replaced with another service.
Worryingly, Rangers SLO Greg Marshall simply said the Zebra Finance option will no longer be available to supporters for 19/20.

That means if Rangers cannot source an alternative solution to the club fans may well have to stump up for their season books. Those who use the service pay for their season books over the course of four or ten months.
This could mean paying the full cost of a ticket up front is not a viable option for many fans. This would then of course dramatically impact the money the club receives through season ticket sales.
It remains to be seen if there will be an alternative route of financing season books. But Rangers SLO assures fans the club are endeavouring to find one.

Rangers aren’t the only club who’ve been rocked by this news. Rivals Celtic, Hibs and Hearts are also affected, as well as a host of other clubs across the UK.
In other controversial financial news, former Rangers Chairman Sandy Easdale has been estimating the cost to topple Celtic [originally quoted in Daily Record]. And it isn’t pretty.
