The President of the Republic of Zambia has mentioned Rangers in a special tweet celebrating the hattrick of Fashion Sakala against Motherwell.
Hakainde Hichilema described the Zambian international’s three goals as a “special welcome to Scotland” for the President’s delegation ahead of COP26.
Congratulations @fashionjr10 on your hat-trick for Glasgow Rangers today.

The much-publicised climate change conference will see world leaders from across the globe descend on Scotland and Glasgow, with the city hosting the event.
Sakala, 24, is a hero of the African nation and it’s a nice touch from the country’s president to recognise the striker’s scoring success.
RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.
After settling in Scotland, the striker was handed a chance by Steven Gerrard at Fir Park and hit three goals as the Gers dumped Motherwell 6-1 to send an emphatic message to the rest of the league.
The result sends Rangers four points clear in the Scottish top-flight and Fashion’s goalscoring exploits and humble personality have been winning the hearts of Gers fans.

But it’s not just Rangers supporters who’ve been lavishing the striker with praise as his treble reaches Zambian shores with the reaction highlighting just how big the player’s stature is in his home country.
Alongside Leicester City striker Patson Daka and Brighton midfielder Enock Mwepu Sakala is the great footballing hope of the nation.

Rangers fans will now be hoping that Fashion Sakala can build on the hattrick and go on to now properly hold down a first team place.
In an impressive team performance against Motherwell, Sakala wasn’t the only one who impressed as one influential player silenced his doubters.
