'Wow' - Rangers fans blown away by all-action Charlie Lindsay display for B team

Rangers fans have raved about Charlie Lindsay on social media after the starlet produced an all-action display for the B team against the University of Stirling.

The Young Gers went top of the Lowland League table with an emphatic 5-0 win in Dumbarton on Tuesday night and Lindsay was a standout performer.

The 17-year-old no.10 officially signed for the Light Blues from Glentoran in June 2020 after shining as a guest at the Alkass Cup.

He scooped the Player of the Tournament award in Doha, winning the individual award ahead of some of the best young talents at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.

The pandemic ensured things weren’t easy for the Northern Ireland international last season, but he’s now getting a regular run of matches with the B team and is thriving.

He’s chipped in with a number of goals and assists in the opening weeks of the Lowland League season and he added to his goal tally against the University of Stirling.

Lindsay netted the Gers’ fourth goal of the night just minutes into the second half, surging forward from midfield and linking up with Robbie Ure before finishing with aplomb.

There was much more to his performance than the goal, though, with the teenager showing lots of quality on the ball and always looking to play in teammates.

Plenty of supporters who watched the game were impressed by what they saw and are convinced that the club have a special player on their hands.

Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:

Lindsay isn’t ready to make the step up to the first team just yet but plenty of Rangers fans are calling for a key player to make way for an exciting 21-year-old vs Alashkert.
