Rangers ambled to a lacklustre 1-1 draw with Hearts in Tynecastle today in a result which rankled with the club’s support.

Captain James Tavernier came under fire from Rangers fans for another mistake in a high-profile match, whilst Sheyi Ojo’s uncommitted display also drew their ire.

But with the likes of Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo flattering to deceive, should we also be utilising a midfielder currently on the fringes of Ibrox?

Andy King joined Rangers on a season-long loan from Leicester City this summer in one of the most surprising deals of the last window.

Andy King – who is widely considered a legend for the Premier League club – brings with him experience at the highest level, 51 international caps and the ability to score from midfield.

Yet appearances have been sparse for King at the same time were Rangers have perhaps lacked those goals from the middle of the park.

Whilst Steven Gerrard is obviously working with King daily and you have got to trust his decision making with the squad, is it time the midfielder got a chance to show Rangers fans what he can do?

With a range of tough away games coming up in the next weeks – not least to Dingwall, Aberdeen and Motherwell – his experience could prove invaluable.
