As a result of Wednesday’s failed appeal, Allan McGregor is suspended for Rangers’ next two matches.
The undisputed no.1 keeper has already racked up 40 appearances for the Gers this season, but won’t be involved against St Johnstone on Saturday.

This provides a significant chance for Wes Foderingham to state his case.
However, it also leaves the door ajar for
Andy Firth.
It was a surprise to many when Rangers went to non-league English football to get themselves a new goalkeeper last month.
That’s where Firth had been plying his trade for Barrow AFC.
It wasn’t totally put of the blue though.

The 22-year-old spent his youth career in Liverpool’s academy and so, had worked with Steven Gerrard before.
After sending Robby McCrorie out on loan, the manager clearly thought Firth could do a job as third choice stopper.
Of course, ideally, his services wouldn’t be called upon at all. Yet, a club the size of Rangers can’t be raiding their youth teams for a keeper if suspension or injury strikes.
There’s no suggestion that Firth is a realistic rival to either McGregor or Foderingham.

Nonetheless, with McGregor temporarily out of the picture, he should be named on the bench on Saturday, for the first time.
From English National League football, to a place in the squad in front of 50,000 at Ibrox.
That would be some turnaround.
