There will be no Rangers fans at Celtic park when Michael Beale and Ange Postecoglou meet in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday 8th April.
There will also be no Celtic supporters at Ibrox in the final Old Firm of the campaign, with the date for that fixture yet to be released.
The decision comes following a discussion between both Rangers and Celtic, with many supporters left furious after hearing the news.
So, why will there be no Rangers fans at Celtic Park in April? Let’s take a look…
No Rangers fans at Celtic Park
Well, the decision has been made due to concerns over safety.
Rangers and Celtic – according to Sky Sports – are working together to find a solution for the future after a number of incidents in recent Old Firm clashes.
In the meantime, it has been mutually agreed that only home supporters will be allowed to attend the remaining two Old Firm encounters in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The Scottish Cup Semi-Final remains unaffected by this decision, as that will take place at a neutral venue in Hampden Park.
As detailed by the Herald, Celtic Physio Daniel Friel required four stitches and has been left with a scar on his scalp after having a bottle thrown at him by a Rangers fan in last season’s 2-1 win for Postecoglou’s side at Ibrox in April.
Rangers also stated that they were left “disappointed” by the police response as fans found themselves under attack from missiles thrown by some Celtic fans, causing injuries to elderly and disabled supporters.
As both Rangers and Celtic attempt to find a long-term solution, away fans have been banned from Old Firm clashes.

It is the latest blow to away fans who regularly attend the Old Firm – in recent seasons, the travelling supporters have seen their allocation cut more and more.
Hopefully, Rangers and Celtic can find a way to safely return back to the old allocations, as the Old Firm is a lesser spectacle without a full house in attendance.
