Rangers games will no longer be on BT Sport from July 2023 as they prepare to rebrand themselves to TNT Sports.
According to The Athletic, Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) paid over £600m to arrange the joint venture, after BT Sport saw talks with DAZN break down.
So, what does this mean for Rangers fans who regularly watch their side in European action? Let’s take a look…
What TNT Sports rebrand means for Rangers fans who own BT Sport
Well, Rangers fans do not have to worry about anything initially.
For now, the rebrand will simply involve a name change from BT Sport to TNT Sports.
It will still be available on the same channel number for Sky and Virgin customers.

There is one beneficial change coming as a result of the rebrand – all games will be added to the Discovery Plus app, so fans can stream Rangers matches online, including phones and tablets.
However, Marc Allera – Chairman of BT Group – and Andrew Georgiou, President and Managing director of WBD Sports Europe, refused to rule out any price hikes in future.
The Athletic quote Allera as saying: “It is impossible to say things are permanent and never change. There are no immediate plans for any change of pricing, but it is a market that moves fast.”
The Athletic do, however, add that costs are not expected to increase throughout 2023.
As things stand, it costs £28 to add BT Sport to a Sky Sports package – although different rates are available on other platforms, depending on who your broadband provider is.
Unfortunately, this rebrand will not see any changes made to UEFA’s 3pm blackout rule.
So, for any Rangers fans wondering why their European games are on a channel called TNT Sports from the start of the 2023/24 campaign, there is nothing to fret about – it is simply a rebrand.
