Rangers are reportedly tussling with rivals Celtic for the transfer of Stoke City youngster Tyrese Campbell.

The Old Firm are also set to face competition for the son of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin from the Premier League with Wolves and Crystal Palace also credited with an interest [Independent].

Stoke were ordered to pay £1.75m to sign the youngster from Manchester City back in 2017 but Rangers and Celtic are hoping to take advantage of cross border rules to sign the 20-year-old striker.

Both Old Firm clubs naturally offer an exciting proposition for young players looking to raise their profile in the game and be successful.

Celtic made a meaty profit after the signing and sale of Moussa Dembele whilst Rangers convinced highly-rated Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo to pick Ibrox over a host of English options.

Joe is beginning to flourish in Scotland.

Rangers beat Celtic to the signing of Aribo in the summer and there’s every chance they could do the same with Tyreese Campbell.

In fact, there’s an argument that the situation at Rangers presents a much more enticing proposition for Campbell.

Not only are Rangers a team littered with exciting young players from down south, but the pull of Steven Gerrard is already proving a big factor in talent choosing Ibrox.

On top of that, Rangers also look set to offer a contract to legendary Premier League striker Jermain Defoe.

Could working underneath the iconic England finisher be the cherry on top of a move to Rangers for highly-rated youngster Campbell?
