Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Glenn Middleton is set to move to Hibs [Daily Record] with the talented 19-year-old to spend this season on loan at Easter Road.
For some fans, the idea of dealing with Hibs is one which is frustrating and something we should avoid.
The Edinburgh club has made it incredibly difficult for Rangers to sign their players in recent seasons – case-in-point Scott Allan – and many fans don’t want us to give them our best talent.

But that’s a notion that should be put to bed by frustrated fans.
This is a positive move for Rangers, for Glenn Middleton, and dare I say it, for Hibs.
The winger might’ve broken through with great promise last season, but his development has been stifled ever since at Ibrox.
Playing at Ibrox, and the pressure that comes with it, is a big burden to put on someone so young’s shoulders.
Some breathing space in Edinburgh can help him get his development back on track.
The player is often too one-dimensional – first-team football will give him the chance to add new aspects to his game.
On his day Middleton could prove to be a top player for Hibs and weaken the rest of the league.
By the same token, he could also become an integral part of their team and thus weaken them against us.
Loan players generally don’t play against their parent clubs.

But above all else, this will give Middleton a season’s experience in the league where he will play for Rangers.
Across the city, the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie have benefitted from this before.
And Glenn Middleton can do the same as he prepares to take the trip down the M8.
