Who is responsible for £4m waste of money at Rangers?

Rangers invested a decent amount of money in the summer, but not all of it wisely.
The writing appears to be on the wall for three players in particular after comments by Steven Gerrard.
The Herald reported that Borna Barisic, Eros Grezda and Kyle Lafferty look like they’ve played their last games for the club.

Ominously, Gerrard said “I’m not here to speak about individual players but I’ve already spoken about them a while ago.
“Have I seen anything in the interim to show me they’ve taken it on board? Well, one’s been injured but have they played in the starting 11? Not much, so that’s the answer to your question.”
The trio of Rangers stars cost a combined total of £4m according to the Herald article. For a club who need to invest wisely in order to progress, all three have proven poor investments.

They not quite Carlos Pena level of ridiculous. Unlike the Mexican, the Rangers won’t be releasing the trio on a free. The club is likely to at least recoup some of the money for the players.
These are three international players. That’s what’s so frustrating. They clearly all have a bit about them but their attitudes have not matched their talents. And Gerrard is clearly angry about it.

Who’s to blame? A mixture of the management team and technical director Mark Allen. Gerrard’s probably just as annoyed with himself for signing the players.
Football is a game of risks and not every signing is going to be a good one, for whatever reason.
But from here on in Rangers need to make sure they invest their money much more wisely.
