Celtic romped to another treble in the midst of refereeing controversy, and pretty much established themselves as the dominant force in our game.
Rangers, more than any other year since being catapulted down the league, have looked at least capable of matching them on the pitch. But over the distance we have once again come short.
No other team in Scotland has it in them to break the Celtic reign atop the Scottish footballing pyramid. So what’s it going to take for Rangers to steal back the trophies?
Steven Gerrard has spoke candidly about the need for quality [Rangers.co.uk]. When the transfer window opens, we have to trust there will be investment in it.
But right now, Rangers have aimed to soak up Scottish Premiership talent. Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie are reportedly set to be joined by Greg Stewart, Steven Davis also knows the league well.
The inference is that these players will help grind out those results which lost us the league this year. Whilst also weakening the opposition.

But what players we sign come the summer are only part of the solution. The truth is, those players currently at the club must see this, how sore it is for supporters, and use it next year.
We have to seriously show up every game. We have to realise that every point is a prisoner. Those Rangers players cannot underestimate the challenge.
I have no doubt that the management don’t. Now, it is up to the players to prove they don’t as well.
