Rangers’ Joe Dodoo is on a hot run of form for his loan club, Blackpool.

They have won their last five matches in all competitions, and the striker is playing a key part in that success.

Before yesterday’s clash against Burton Albion, he had notched three in three for the Seasiders. This run included a textbook overhead kick against Accrington Stanley in the Football League Trophy.

It was more of the same yesterday, as he completed the scoring in a 3-0 home win.

Given space at the back post, he rose acrobatically to fire an exquisite volley past Burton ‘keeper, Collins.

Considering Rangers’ own disastrous loan deal with Umar Sadiq, perhaps Steven Gerrard will be monitoring Dodoo’s performances closely.

This is the 23-year-old’s second spell away from Ibrox. He made a handful of appearances in a less successful stint with Charlton Athletic last season.

However, if he continues in this vain, it will be hard for him to be remain overlooked.

The player enjoyed the finish too, judging by his Twitter account.

Next up for Dodoo and Blackpool is a trip to Doncaster on Tuesday evening, where they will be looking to improve upon their current position of 7th in League One.
