Fabio Cardoso was one of several signings under Pedro Caixinha, who didn’t make the grade at Ibrox.
He joined from on a three-year-deal from Vitoria Setubal in June 2017, for an undisclosed fee.

However, he lasted just one campaign at Rangers.
During that time, he had accumulated 18 appearances for the Gers, but was never able to nail down a spot.
Just like fellow centre-backs Bruno Alves, Russell Martin and David Bates, he was on his way again in the summer.

Since joining freshly promoted Santa Clara in the Portuguese Primeira Liga, he has experienced mixed fortunes.
In his 17 matches to date, he has only overseen three clean sheets and has been sent off twice.
Yet,
Santa Clara are currently in a respectable tenth position, thanks in part, to four goals from the 24-year-old.

His most recent of which, came on Saturday, at home against Portimonense.
With the scores locked at 1-1, Cardoso arrived unmarked at the back post in the 74th minute and powered home a header.
This was his first game back after picking up a straight red card against Benfica several weeks previously.
A fine way to make amends!
