Prominent Rangers fan group the Union Bears have released a statement on Twitter ahead of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup quarter-final at Ibrox.
The Gers Colts team have done incredibly well to reach this stage of the competition, defeating Berwick Rangers, Stranraer and Ballymena United all away from home, before travelling to England and defeating Solihull Moors in the Fourth Round.

The reward for seeing off four senior opposition sides is a chance to play on hallowed home turf against Wrexham.

In response, the Union Bears, the group who generate much of the noise at first-team games, have confirmed that they will have a presence in the ground.
While a healthy crowd is expected, it’s likely to be in the thousands rather than the tens of thousands, with large areas of the stadium empty.
Therefore, the group have asked fans to refrain from buying until they arrange a way to purchase tickets specifically for their section.
Clearly, the more fans concentrated in one area, the better the atmosphere will be.

With the game now just a week away, excitement is bound to be building amongst the Academy ranks.
Wrexham currently play in the National League, the same level as Solihull Moors, who were defeated in the last round.
It will be a big test, but especially as the Colts have home advantage, there’s no reason to think they can’t at least make it to the last four.
