The Ibrox future of under-fire Rangers star Bongani Zungu is hanging by a thread after the midfielder breached Covid-19 regulations to attend a house party in Glasgow’s west end.

Steven Gerrard has said it would be “fair to say” Zungu’s future is all but over but the club itself publicly accepted an apology made by the player after the breach.

Alongside Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey, Zungu is back in the first team and presumably, back under the nose of Steven Gerrard with time yet to convince him he deserves a very unlikely second chance.

But a South African podcast didn’t miss in an x-rated attack on the midfielder’s error of judgement was paralleled with some serious disappointment in a player the nation clearly rates.

YouTube channel MacG is a popular South African channel and on their Podcast and Chill show the issue of Bongani Zungu came up in conversation.

This has since been clipped on Twitter but we should give you a warning – it’s full of swearing and not suitable for children.

The general gist of the video concerns Zungu not only letting himself down, but also letting down his country and the prospects of young footballers coming out of South Africa.

The podcaster gets angrily frustrated that Zungu would throw away an opportunity to impress at Rangers with Steven Gerrard when so many people are looking up to him.

Not only that, but the midfielder also gets blasted for wasting an opportunity to impress watching eyes in the Premier League down south and not getting enough game-time at Ibrox.

Zungu’s Ibrox future might be hanging on by a thread, but does the midfielder have a chance at rescuing his Rangers career?
