Nicolas Raskin joined Rangers just a few months ago, but the midfielder has already publicly said that he eventually wants to leave Ibrox to play in the Premier League for Chelsea.
In an interview with Belgian publication La Derniere Heure, Raskin has said that he is happy to have joined Rangers in the January transfer window.
The midfielder has noted that Rangers saw off competition from a number of other clubs to bring him to Ibrox.
The 22-year-old has said that he is happy at Rangers, but his plan is to eventually leave Michael Beale’s side and join Chelsea and play for the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin on his Chelsea dream
Raskin said, as translated by STV: “My ultimate dream is to play in the Premier League with Chelsea. Playing in Scotland struck me as a good intermediate step.
“But Rangers are still a big name in British football. Before they came in for me, I had approaches from Club Brugge and Genk.
“But I think it would be a mistake for me to play for another club in Belgium, as Standard will always be the club I love most.
“Other clubs were interested in me as well, but Rangers’ interest was the strongest.”

View: Positive for Rangers
Now, some Rangers fans will feel that Nicolas Raskin should not be openly speaking about joining Chelsea, especially as he has not even been at Ibrox for a season.
However, we believe that the Belgium Under-21 international sharing his dream of playing in the Premier League is very encouraging.
It shows how ambitious Raskin is.
The youngster will know that if he is to impress Chelsea, then he will have to establish himself as one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
This means that Raskin will have to work extremely hard and develop a lot.
That would, in turn, make Rangers a better team.
And if Chelsea do come calling for the midfielder in the coming years, then Rangers could get millions in transfer fee, certainly more than the €1.5 million (£1.3 million) they paid to Standard Liege for him.
Raskin has made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership, one substitute appearance in the Scottish Cup and three starts in the Scottish Cup for Rangers since his transfer.
