UK-based football journalist Pete O’Rourke has reiterated exciting reports that Rangers are interested in Vitesse defender Danhilo Doekhi as a report in Holland claims the Gers are leading the pack for his signature.
Doekhi, 22, is a product of Ajax’s youth academy and has impressed this season at the heart of the Eredivisie side’s defence.

Doekhi has been so impressive in fact that the Dutch club at the time of writing have conceded the fewest amount of goals of any side in the division this season.
Football Insider linked Rangers over the weekend before the same publication revealed that Premier League clubs such as Newcastle United and Fulham were also reportedly interested.
These are claims backed up by O’Rourke who took to Twitter to claim that Rangers have an eye on the talented Dutch stopper.
The Doekhi links have since also surfaced in the Netherlands with the Gers reportedly set to offer the defender a three-year deal [De Gelderlander].
That report also claims that last year the defender turned down the offer of a move to Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb.
The original story in the UK claimed that any move for Doekhi largely depended on the Ibrox future of Swedish international defender Filip Helander.

Helander, 28, has been linked to the likes of Aston Villa and Leicester City in the Premier League ahead of next season [Sportbladet].
Should Rangers manage to pull a deal for Doekhi off the move has shades of a Celtic deal for a Dutch defender who is now worth a whopping £75m.
