Two Rangers stars have been named in the SPFL Team of the Week following outstanding performances against St Mirren on Sunday.

The Gers ran out 3-0 winners in their first competitive fixture at Ibrox for almost five months as they continued their perfect start to the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership campaign.

An own goal from Buddies centre-back Conor McCarthy got the Gers up and running after 23 minutes, before two second-half strikes from Alfredo Morelos made the points safe.

After a run of just one goal in his previous 14 appearances, El Bufalo looked much more like his usual self with his goals and all-round performance earning him a spot up front in the SPFL’s Team of the Week.

Joining him is Gers teammate, Borna Barisic, who also impressed on the day.

The left-back helped his side keep a clean sheet and also provided an assist for the final goal of the game.

The Croatian international’s willingness to get forward and his ability to pick out teammates make him a real asset for Rangers and his inclusion is well-deserved.

Steven Gerrard’s side were dominant at Ibrox and that’s reflected by the fact that St Mirren keeper Jak Alnwick has also been included in the TOTW despite being on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat.

The former Gers player made nine saves including several spectacular stops in his first game back at Ibrox since being released by the club earlier this summer.
