A GIVEMESPORT transfer report has provided an update on the future of Rangers striker, Alfredo Morelos.
The Colombia international struggled in front of goal over the first half of the season but has netted seven times in his last ten appearances in all competitions and is vital to the Gers’ playing style.
Ross Wilson recently stated that Rangers aren’t under pressure to sell all their key assets at the end of the season [Scottish Sun], but given that 55 has been secured and that a £16.25m bid from Lille was reportedly knocked back last summer [Daily Mail], it seems likely that the time to cash in is approaching.
Morelos himself was recently quoted as saying that he is hoping for an opportunity to move to the Premier League [Goal.com].
However, GIVEMESPORT suggest that it’s unlikely he will move to England any time soon.
Their report asserts that El Bufalo is likely to leave Ibrox in the summer but for a club in mainland Europe rather than one south of the border.
It’s claimed that clubs on the continent are keeping a ‘keen eye on his situation’ but no names are provided.
The report is a little light on specifics but it’s entirely possible that Morelos could leave Ibrox for a Serie A, Ligue 1, La Liga or Bundesliga side this summer.
The 24-year-old’s best performances in a Rangers shirt have come in European competition and it would be a big surprise if teams weren’t interested after his superb displays in both legs of the Europa League Round of 32 tie against Royal Antwerp.
One thing is for sure, though, the Gers won’t be letting their talisman go for cheap, so any club that wants Morelos better dig deep.
