Signing Todd Cantwell looks like being one of Rangers best every value for money deals if he can deliver the success that he looks capable of.

The 24-year old arrived in January having endured a miserable couple of years at Norwich City, where he had been since the academy.

Todd Cantwell grew into the Rangers jersey and it’s clear that the playmaker has found his happy place.

Todd Cantwell finds happiness at Rangers

Posting on Instagram, the England youth international has declared his love for the Light Blues as he embarks on his first full season at the club.

“Never felt a connection like it. The love is stronger than ever.”

It’s a big claim for someone who starred for their boyhood club in the Premier League and was once valued at £50m.

Sometimes, good players fail to settle at Rangers but it is clear that Todd Cantwell has found a club that matches his ambitions and values him for what he does on the pitch, not how he looks off it.

With a Malik Tillman sized hole in Michael Beale’s midfield, Cantwell will be asked to pick up the mantle and continue where he left off last season.

Tom Lawrence will make a difference when he returns, as will Kieran Dowell.

A fully fit Ianis Hagi will also be expected to return to the sort of form he displayed when Rangers won the league a couple of seasons ago.

Every successful team has a main man though, a talisman.

Todd Cantwell and Rangers are a match made in heaven and the Champions League could be the place for him to show just how much of a bargain the £1.5m fee really was.
