Todd Cantwell arrived at Rangers in January looking like a player who needed a fresh start and the chance to prove he could still be the player he once was.

At 24-years old, the former Norwich City playmaker had lost his way but for a reported £1.5m Michael Beale decided that he was worth the risk.

And he was, a new fans favourite was born and Todd Cantwell settled into life at Rangers, however, posting on Instagram, he has hinted at previous issues before he joined.

Since joining in the winter transfer window, Todd Cantwell has 11 goal contributions in 20 games for Rangers.

Previously though, his form had seen fans concerned that he was no longer capable of the sort of football that saw him linked with £50m Premier League moves.

In his previous 19 games before joining, he had zero goal contributions and didn’t score or assist the season before either.

Hardly the sort of form to inspire confidence.

Now though, the enigmatic star has suggested that what he was doing off the pitch was of equal concern to what he was doing on it.

“It’s nice knowing I’m going into a pre-season not having to worry if my hair is too blonde or my clothes will be too much for people.”

Which was followed up with the motivational and reflective quote of:

“The past gave us experience and made us wiser so that we can create a beautiful and brighter future.”

It makes you wonder, given the drop off in form from the player we saw in the Premier League and the one we are seeing now, what was going on behind the scenes at Norwich.

Todd Cantwell is a different player for Rangers.

Their loss is our gain though.

The main thing is, he is happy now and looks like he could be the player that Michael Beale can build his Rangers time around.

If he continues his form since arriving, it doesn’t matter if his hair is pink or blue, green might raise a few eyebrows though
