Rangers midfielder Todd Cantwell becomes the latest Ibrox star to come out with big talk in the wake of a defeat to Celtic with his latest social media post.
The former Norwich City midfielder started the game at Parkhead and did impress in patches as the club fell to a 3-2 defeat and effectively ended their admittedly tame Scottish Premiership resistance.
Taking to social media after the game, the midfielder claimed that Rangers transpired to lose the game against Celtic in big talk which will fall on deaf ears if things don’t change in the next Old Firm clash.
“The disappointment is real, we lost the game they didn’t win it,” said Todd Cantwell.
“We continue to stick together and build in the right direction, this is a project and a exciting one. Stick together as one.”
Celtic talk is cheap for Todd Cantwell and Rangers
Whilst it’s all well and good recognising the disappointment and the progress in the defeat at Celtic Park, this is yet more big talk for a Rangers side who are failing to deliver in the Old Firm.
He might not have started the clash at Celtic Park, but John Lundstram was out giving it the big one following the League Cup Final defeat at Hampden.
Todd Cantwell is also out talking up Rangers over Celtic and – whilst it’s good to see some simmering contempt here – it’s all talk until the results actually change.
The midfielder has been a breath of fresh air alongside Nicolas Raskin in recent weeks but Rangers are still a long way off where they need to be as they look to topple their rivals.

Heading into next season it’s win or bust for many at Ibrox with everyone from the playing squad to the boardroom ready to be cleared out if Celtic waltz to yet another title.
It’s a big summer for a lot of reasons, but before we even get there Todd Cantwell and co need to put their money where their mouth is in the upcoming Scottish Cup clash with Celtic at Hampden.
