Michael Beale has gone after less than a year in the Rangers hot seat.
Rangers turned to Beale as a replacement for Giovanni van Bronckhorst in November of last year, luring him back to the club having assisted Steven Gerrard.
The hope was that Beale could replicate the 2021 title win but that just hasn’t happened.
Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Aberdeen has proven to be the end with Rangers sacking Beale late on Sunday night.
Kevin Muscat keen on Rangers job
Rangers are already looking for a replacement and fans are left wondering who could land the job.
One prominent name in discussions is Kevin Muscat, who spent a brief period at Rangers in his playing days.
Now managing Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan, Muscat appears to be a prime contender for the Rangers.
FTBL in Muscat’s native Australia claim that Muscat is interested in managing in Europe again after a prior spell with Sint-Truiden in Belgium.
TalkSPORT add that Muscat is now interested in speaking to Rangers about replacing Beale.
The 50-year-old is seemingly making his interest clear and it’s now down to Rangers to decide whether to open talks.

Muscat track record analysed
Muscat started his coaching career with Melbourne Victory, taking interim charge before Jim Magilton’s arrival.
Ange Postecoglou then came in and Muscat continued to work with him until Postecoglou became Australia manager in 2013.
Muscat took over as Melbourne Victory manager and took charge 214 times, winning 49% of his games whilst securing two A-League Championship titles.
Muscat did reunite with Postecoglou in a coaching capacity for the 2017 Confederations Cup before leaving Melbourne Victory in 2019.
Belgium was the next port of call as Muscat became Sint-Truiden boss in 2020 but lasted just six months after two wins in 15 games.
Ex-Celtic boss Postecoglou comes into the story again here, as he left Yokohama F. Marinos for Celtic in the summer of 2021.
Muscat was given the call to come in and replace Postecoglou and the move has gone very well.
Muscat won the J1 League title in 2022 and has Yokohama F. Marinos in contention again this season, sitting second behind Vissel Kobe.
Known as a hard-man in his playing days, Muscat may have the mental fortitude needed for the Rangers job.
The big question surrounds that spell in Belgium; Muscat has won titles in Australia and Japan but failed badly in his one European job.
That isn’t exactly ideal for becoming Rangers boss and the Gers will want to get to the bottom of just why Muscat’s spell in Belgium went so wrong.
