Three reasons for Rangers fans to be positive after Kilmarnock defeat

Last night did not go according to plan for Rangers and there’s no getting away from that.
However, it’s important to take positives from each game – even in defeat.

Title race not over yet

Firstly, Rangers may have dropped to third position in the league, but by no means are they out of the title race.
Celtic have proven themselves vulnerable on occasion this season. Now the Gers know they can beat their Old Firm rivals in a head to head, there’s no need to panic.
There’s a long way to go yet and even a six-point deficit can certainly be overturned.

Defoe gets on the scoresheet

A big plus, was that Jermain Defoe got off the mark in Rangers colours.
He’s done it wherever he has been in the past. Yet, even still, there was so much fanfare surrounding his arrival, that it would be easy to feel some extra pressure.
Opening his account on debut, after a false start at Cowdenbeath, will make him feel a whole lot better about things.
If the Gers are to get back on track, he will be a key man.

Jones shows he has required quality

This is more of a positive for the long-term.
As we all know, Jordan Jones is set to join Rangers in the summer, having signed a pre-contract agreement.
Last night, he showed he has real quality.
There are some question marks about his consistency, but his fine solo goal when under big pressure to perform, proved he has the tools to make it at Ibrox.
