Chris Sutton and Darrell Currie have recognised three Rangers stars for their outstanding individual seasons.
The BT Sport pundits named James Tavernier, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos in their Team of the Season.
With three inclusions, the Gers were the joint most represented club.
Three Celtic players were also named. Meanwhile, there were two each from Killie and Aberdeen, with Motherwell’s David Turnbull the only player not from a top four side.
Verdict
Sutton spent almost the entire season complaining about Rangers. He also ventured to claim that next to no progress had been made under Steven Gerrard [Daily Record].
However, the inclusion of three Gers here, tells a different story.
As the inaugural SPL Tartan Ball winner, Morelos was an obvious choice up front.
After picking up the SFA Young Player of the Year award, Kent was also a shoo-in on the left. While six goals and six assists in the league aren’t sensational stats, he’s tortured right-backs up and down the land this season.
Finally, the skipper is well worthy of his inclusion at right-back. There’s no doubt Tav has been the standout full-back in Scotland this season and it’s vital that Rangers keep hold of him.

In scoring 14 goals and registering 14 assists, he racked up more direct goal involvements than any other SPL player.
Overall, it’s a fair enough XI, although Allan McGregor may feel aggrieved to miss out to Joe Lewis. Meanwhile, Dedryck Boyata seems fortunate to get a spot ahead of Celtic teammate Kristopher Ajer.
