Some Rangers fans are predicting that Ianis Hagi will leave Ibrox at the expiration of his loan deal in the summer, despite the club having an exclusive option to buy.

The 21-year-old signed from Genk on deadline day on a deal until the end of the current season, with Gary McAllister recently hinting it was likely the club would look to make the move permanent [Sky Sports].

However, amid Rangers’ wretched current domestic form, plenty of Bears think he’ll be regretting the loan and will soon look to go elsewhere.

Just hours after Serie A side Lazio were linked with the creative talent [Il Corriere dello Sport via the Daily Record], he played the full 90 minutes of the Gers’ embarrassing home defeat to Hamilton.

Hagi, as usual, looked to make things happen for the Light Blues, but despite having multiple attempts in the early stages and a hitting the crossbar with a deflected effort at the death, he was unable to provide a breakthrough.

He’s fought something of a lone battle at times since arriving in January and although he’s not got the physicality some suggest is required in Scottish football, he has bags of talent and could go far in the game.

Plenty of Bears have a feeling he won’t be at Ibrox beyond the season, though, suggesting he will become disillusioned with the poor performances and lack of quality around him.
